BONER GOES LIMP
Posted February 25, 2010, 8:07 p.m.
Andrew Koenig's been disqualified in Vancouver. The actor, who played Richard "Boner" Stabone on "Growing Pains," was discovered dead in a Vancouver park. John Cowan narrowly edged Jon Graney on the notification. Koenig's father is said to have his emotional phasers to "stun." Look on the bright side, Boner. At least you're not Kirk Cameron...amen. Koenig was 41.

F/V CORONARY MARIE
Posted February 10, 2010, 12:13 p.m.
Capt. Phil Harris of the fishing vessel Cornelia Marie, a regular on the Deadliest Catch, died of a stroke Jan. 29 during crab fishing season. John Cowan notified Jon Graney, however Harris does not qualify for a point on two fronts: 1) his fame came from being a fisherman, not an entertainer, and 2) Cowan never watched the show. Harris was 53. And you thought crab was the deadliest catch.

If you don't know me by now...you missed your chance. Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass died Jan. 13 after a long battle with colon cancer. Jon Graney notified John Cowan. Pendergrass continued his career despite a devestating car accident in 1982 that left him partially paralyzed. His hits included "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "Love T.K.O.," "Feel The Fire," and "Look Out For That Guardrail!" Pendergrass was 59.

"Clueless" star, actress Brittany Murphy, died unexpectedly, Dec. 20. John Cowan notified Jon Graney to retake the DeathWatch lead. Murphy starred not only in Clueless, but in the following movies: "Deadline," "The Dead Girl," "Girl, Interrupted," and "Drop Dead Gorgeous." Quite a prophecy, eh? Oh, and she starred in "The Prophecy II." Now THAT'S ironic. Murphy was 32.

OBER AND OUT
Posted November 15, 2009, 11:56 p.m.
Ken Ober, host of the 1980s MTV game show, "Remote Control," was found dead in his apartment, Nov. 15. John Cowan notified Jon Graney, tying the DeathWatch tally at 109-109. Ober had complained earlier in the day of a headache and flu-like symptoms, and didn't show up for a planned dinner later in the day. Sounds like someone should have spent less time focused on Remote Control, and more time focused on the Centers for Disease Control. Ober was 52.
