The growing season arrived weeks ago, so before working on the walkway, some veggies were planted.

After spreading a thick layer of sand as a base and screeding it level, the bricks are placed.

The bricks came from this pile; the remnants of a former patio, apparently. Many were damaged,
but some were in great condition. I chose the best for the walkway.

The standing bricks are placeholders for bricks I will need to cut later.

The ends of the walkway terminate in a row of salvaged pavers that were also left in a nearby pile.

The walkway from the front.

The walkway follows the grade...not the level of the boxes.

The bricks are placed.

A chop saw with a diamond masonry bit made short work of the bricks.

The half-bricks are placed.

And the walkway is complete.

The final step is to sweep in some polymeric sand and water it to lock the bricks in place.

I found some strawberry plants on deep discount at the local home center, so I decided to
try my hand at a strawberry patch behind the garden.

However, along the side of the left bed, I planted grass seed to regain some lawn.

Straw is placed in the strawberry patch and over the grass seed.

And with that, I have a new garden.

While part of the original garden footprint became a strawberry patch,
I planted grass seed along the side of the garden to revert this strip to grass.

The polymeric sand lightened the color of the brick, but that will wear away over time.
