Work turns to trimming out the bookcase. First, a 1"x3" board is run along the ceiling.


Next, a second board is run right under it, making sure the bottom board is level.

This is because the bottom board is level, and the top board follows the ceiling line.


The bottom receives the same treatment as the top. Note the red laser level line assisting me.


Next, the fluted uprights are installed.

A decorative molding is fastened to the top to give the bookcase a formal look.


Oak shoe molding was used to cover the gaps between the parallel boards.
