Work now turns to removing the vinyl flooring. This took the better part of the day.

A floor scraper helped reveal a subfloor in very good shape.

The vinyl floor is removed and vacuumed clean.

I picked out a ceramic field tile and a decorative accent border, which is a mix of stone and brushed
steel squares, which match the look of the brushed nickel hardware. I later decided to go with a
larger, 18-inch ceramic field tile.

Next, the ceiling and skylight well received a new coat of ceiling paint. Cutting in a 13-foot ceiling is
not fun. Next up...painting the woodwork and the walls.
