The bedroom started out pretty nondescript. Neutral walls, old woodwork and furniture, and a teal carpet.
The floral Croscill bedding was a little dated and too feminine. I have to sleep in here too, ya know.

Looking toward the hallway. The left door goes to the master bathroom, while the doors on the right
are to my closet. The rest of the house has solid six-panel doors, which will also adorn the closet.

The master bathroom was fully renovated only a few years ago, so it only needs minor redecorating.
The color scheme for the bathroom will be chosen after the bedroom, to coordinate the two.

The room is actually not very big, but the queen sized bed is very tall. I'd like to make the room
feel bigger, while making the bed look smaller.

The furniture needs an update, and the windows need treatment as well.

A couple of interesting angles to the walls could lend well to different wall colors.

Looking from the bathroom at the closet doors.

Far corner of the bedroom (left), and a closet less-than-organized.

Like most closets, the top shelf gets out of hand. Yes, I hang my T-shirts. You got a problem with that?

Work begins. All the furniture is removed.

A blank canvas.

After initial demolition. The original "clamshell" casings are removed from the windows and doors.

The jamb around the closet was in rough shape, so I removed that as well.

I'm leaving the carpet as long as possible to protect the floor and keep dust down. It's going, though.

A view of the worksite (left) and a window stripped of its casing. I'm salvaging only the windowsill.
